Our established consumer products client headquartered nearby the Long Beach Airport is seeking a Financial Reporting Director for a newly created position within their growing organization. The Financial Reporting Director will be responsible for establishing internal reporting protocol as well as managing the preparation of SEC filings. The Financial Reporting Director will report to the VP of Finance. The Financial Reporting Director will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Prepare and manage external SEC filings (e.g., 10-K, 10-Q, etc.) and related documents and earnings releases
• Provide subject matter expertise on SEC reporting and disclosure requirements as related to the company’s operations
• Manage the filing calendar deadlines in coordination with accounting and finance
• Interface with senior and executive leadership on external reporting matters
• Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors
• Provide support to executive leadership in the development, analysis, and communication of cost saving initiatives and strategies
• Participate in ad-hoc projects, as needed

The qualified Financial Reporting Director will possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• At least four (4) years of experience within public accounting with heavy exposure to SEC clients
• CPA required
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills
• An inquisitive and driven mindset and the ability to thrive in a fluid environment
