Our financial services client is seeking a IT Specialist to join their corporate internal audit group. This position will focus primarily on improving the entity’s risk management, governance, and risk management through the successful execution of internal audits and special projects. The IT Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Plan and execute complex IT audits and reviews in addition to evaluate and consult on projects including application controls
• Develop audit programs for general IT controls to include, but not limited to, change management, database management, risk and project management, systems development, and security and emerging technologies
• Assist in the preparation of audit reports and communicate results with internal management and stakeholders
• Partner with Big 4 external auditors with their engaged scope of work
• Establish more efficient audit plans and processes when applicable

The qualified IT Specialist must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related business field. The CISA designation would be most preferred along with any other certifications – CIA, CPA, CISSP, etc. – along with the proven ability to develop and implement measurable improvements. The IT Specialist should have 5+ years of experience in an external/internal audit role. Any programmer or developer experience would be preferred. The candidate must be a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
