Our longstanding, manufacturing client is seeking a Controller to manage the daily operational accounting functions as well as spearhead process improvement initiatives. The Controller will play a vital role in the establishment of a stable accounting function. This is a great opportunity to implement process improvement and efficiencies in the daily and month-end accounting processes. For this role, the Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Hands-on involvement and oversight of the daily and month-end domestic accounting operations while managing, developing, and leading the accounting staff
- Actively participate in all aspects of the full accounting cycle and provide financial statements and related analysis for senior management
- Assist with operation’s budgeting and forecasting function and partner with various departments for financial reporting and analysis
- Assist in the implementation of best practices utilizing ERP functions as well as drive the documentation of internal processes and controls
- Lead and/or participate in organizational goals and departmental projects and initiatives that drive process improvement within the accounting function
The qualified Controller must possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least ten years of work experience ideally within a manufacturing/distribution/logistics industry
- The ability to work hands-on in the details of the accounting records, lead, develop, and train accounting staff, and collaborate with various departments for financial reporting and analysis purposes
- Mindset to leverage existing ERP system to automate and improve accounting efficiencies and reduce manual processes
