Our growing real estate investment client is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their accounting team to manage and oversee their daily accounting functions for one of their growing investment entities.  The Assistant Controller position offers the chance to be exposed to multiple facets of the accounting and enterprise operations as well as provide growth opportunities as the entity grows and expands.  The Assistant Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Oversee the daily general accounting functions and manage the monthly close process
• Assist with the financial statement consolidation process for the domestic and international operations
• Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance policies to ensure efficiencies and accurate financial statements
• Monitor cash and debt management and related treasury responsibilities
• Provide support in the preparation of SEC filings and disclosures
• Assist in the purchase price accounting for future acquisitions
• Assist with other duties/projects as assigned

The qualified Assistant Controller will possess a(n):

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting
• CPA or be actively in the process of obtaining licensure
• Blend of public accounting and industry experience (preferably)
• Background in the real estate industry experience but not required
• Ability to thrive and succeed in a hands-on role within a demanding environment due to the growth of the entity
• Ability to independently problem solve and proactively execute assigned tasks.
