     MATHEMATICS ADJUNCT FACULTY

    TALLAHASSEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE announces openings for Mathematics Adjunct Faculty positions for the 2020-21 academic year to teach online synchronous classes.                                   

    MAJOR FUNCTION:  Adjunct faculty responsibilities includes providing online synchronous instruction, service and support of college policies and procedures, and professional development.   

    ADJUNCT FACULTY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics, or a Master’s degree in a closely related area with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics or Statistics. 

    In addition to the minimum qualifications listed for this position, all prospective faculty are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics: 

    1. Commitment to student retention and success
    2. Commitment to development and assessment of student learning
    3. Use of technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning, including distance learning and alternative delivery systems
    4. Willingness to support a diverse population of learners inside and beyond the classroom
    5. Ability to work in a participatory and collegial setting

    MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: 

    • Personal computer, printer, and other general office equipment.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 

    • Exterior and interior work environments, sometimes in inclement weather. 
    • Candidates must be willing and able to work various work shifts as assigned.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: 

    • Work requires the ability to perform the following physical activities: walking, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, crawling, reaching, lifting, sitting, and squatting.
    • Work may require walking, standing, sitting and working in confined spaces or at high elevations for extended periods of time.
    • Must be able to visually distinguish colors
    • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to climb ladders.
    • Ability to work from elevated platforms of 8 feet or higher and for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to work in narrow and confined spaces under elevated temperatures.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • High school or GED Diploma required. 
    • Certifications must be attained/maintained as assigned. 
    • Successfully completed Background Investigation with a Favorable Suitability Determination preferred.
