    Summit Technical Solutions (STS) has an immediate opportunity for an MWOC SUPPORT TECH to work on-site at Cavalier AFS, North Dakota. The Missile Warning Operations Center (MWOC) Tech alerts the MWOC of Mission System Status Changes.

     

    The work schedule for this position is part of a 24/7 shift rotation.

     

    Operate and maintain the AN/FPQ-16 Radar Sensor, AN/FSQ-100 Data Processing (DP) system, AN/FRC 181 MILSTAR terminal, and CPS and associated equipment. Perform job control functions, preventive maintenance (PM) inspections and crypto equipment operation and key loading.   

     

    • Operate the AN/FPQ-16 Radar Sensor.
    • Receive information for on-and off-equipment maintenance actions from various personnel during the course of maintenance.
    • Inform the Crew Commander immediately of all changes in equipment/systems status and progress of corrective actions/maintenance.
    • Ensure all scheduled Sensor, DP, and SATCOM PM routines are accomplished.
    • Initiate action to recall Sensor and DP equipment from maintenance when directed.
    • Inform Crew Commander when a malfunction reduces mission capability.
    • Respond to requests from the MWOC Crew Commander to investigate equipment discrepancies. Coordinate all requirements for equipment outages with MWOC and complete MDC forms for all maintenance performed.
    • Report errors in technical orders and other maintenance publications to Management and furtherance to Quality Assurance.
    • Maintain a daily running log to record all changes in equipment status and significant maintenance events.
    • Complete Mission Data Collection (MDC) forms (AF Form 349) for all maintenance performed.
    • Notify Crew Commander or designated representative if electromagnetic interference is received.
    • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems in accordance with T.O. directives.
    • Responsible for operation and maintenance of the AN/FSQ-100 computer system.
    • Work closely with the system analyst.
    • Schedule production runs, program test, and data compilations.
    • Maintain inventory of Secret working papers, which includes recording tapes, CD's, DVD's, and data packages.
    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for the AN/FRC-181 MILSTAR terminal and associated
    • equipment including power supplies, amplifiers, frequency generating devices, antenna systems, receivers and transmitters, teletype equipment, and peripheral communications systems.
    • Responsible for ensuring SATCOM equipment meets performance standards required to prepare for MDC documentation, and other maintenance forms as needed.
    • Utilize Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) to isolate equipment malfunctions down to the lowest repairable unit, (repairing or replacing unit).
    • Perform Defense Information Systems Agency (OISA) reporting when required.
    • Physically patch user to and from the multiplexer, when required.
    • Ensure current technical data is available for maintenance tasks.
    • Interpret diagnostic printouts.
    • Assist Quality Control personnel by conducting technical inspections when required.
    • Operate telecommunications equipment for the purposes of sending and receiving messages.
    • Operate cryptographic equipment to protect classified messages as required.
    • Maintain the Master Station Log to record significant events.
    • Ensure all communication malfunctions are isolated to in-house, distant end, or commercial carrier problems.
    • Controls the Communications Processing System (CPS) data transmission lines and coordinates with agencies for testing.
    • Aware of work hazards associated with the job duties and control measure required to counteract them
    • Identify and report safety deficiencies as they occur and take corrective actions.
    • Participate in quality, environmental, safety, security, disaster preparedness programs, and Installation/Higher
    • Headquarters Directed Exercises.
    • Maintains job proficiency by participating in the training program
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Current CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent IAT Level II certification
    • Four years' experience in High Power Microwave or Radar systems. Working knowledge of transmitters and radar subsystems is essential.
    • Two years' formal training in electronics, a two-year civilian electronics course/program, or equivalent experience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • College courses in Computer Programming or Computer Operations or equivalent work experience. Experience time can include up to two years of formal education
    • Phased Array Radar experience is preferred.
    • Three years' experience in Computer Operations with technical knowledge of computer systems. Familiar with UNIX or Linux operating system and commands. Experience time can include formal education.
    • One year experience in the operation and maintenance of any SATCOM medium or heavy earth terminal.
    • Knowledge of DISA reporting criteria.

    ABOUT PARCS AND CAVALIER AFS For 39 years, Cavalier Air Force Station, along with its powerful Perimeter Acquisition Radar Characterization System (PARCS) has been at the forefront of missile warning and space surveillance in protecting our Nation from missile attacks. PARCS is operated by the 10th Space Warning Squadron, a geographically separated unit of the 21st Space Wing at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.
