  • Responsibilities

    You will receive, store and distribute materials, tools, equipment and products within the facility while learning about TAW’s generator division.

     

    • Reads production schedule, customer, order work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
    • Unload trucks using a forklift and a chain to hook the generators from the forklift.
    • Ship and receive generators and parts.
    • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
    • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
    • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
    • Check invoices for accuracy and maintains inventory records.
    • Use computer to enter records.
    • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items.
    • Pull and prepare parts and equipment for Generator Technicians to perform their service work. This entails gathering oil, battery chargers, batteries and so forth.
    • Deliver parts to technicians in the field as needed.
    • Must have the ability to operate in a constant state of alertness, and safe manner.
    • Must be able to travel, in company service vehicle, throughout the local counties as needed.
    • Adhere to all company policies.
    • Observe all safety procedures and policies and use proper protective equipment (especially eye, ear protection and steel toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc.).
    • Keep work area clean and organized.
    • Report all injuries, near misses and accidents immediately to a supervisor.
    • All other duties as assigned.

     

    Required Skills

    • High school diploma or GED; and one to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
    • Mechanical and/or electrical experience and aptitude desired.
    • Read and understand work orders, shop instructions, specifications and procedures manuals, and posted safety instructions.  Individuals must know the location of and how to read the material safety data sheets (MSDS) and interpret as to the severity of the potential hazards that exist when using the variety of solvents and chemicals required when performing the task as required.
    • Intermediate computer skills
    • Good communication skills, enthusiastic attitude, and great customer service skills are a must. 
    • Must have satisfactory driving record.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Mechanical aptitude required.

     

     

    Physical Demands: Employee is required to: stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, and crawl frequently; sit regularly; use hands to finger to feel, handle, and grip tools and controls frequently; reach with hands and arms frequently; talk and hear. Employee must lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift and move up to 85 Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
