  • Responsibilities

    Develop control logic process and control strategy and provide customer assistance and technical support. Interface with customers on-site including water/wastewater, theme parks, power plants, manufacturing facilities, military equipment, power generation, mining, and OEM’s.   

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop PLC and HMI programs for manufacturing facility and guide customers on their usage.
    • Develop and program PLC logic for Modicon, Allen Bradley, Siemens and related controllers.
    • Develop HMI programs using Wonderware, IFix, VT SCADA and RSView.
    • Assist customers through complex applications from beginning to end of projects.
    • Coordinates with the sales team to qualify automation needs of the customer.
    • Develop control logic and process control strategies.
    • Provide customers with technical advice and support.
    • Troubleshoot and perform any changes requested by the customer.
    • Read and create a control scheme for automation and integration.
    • Resolve complex and cross-functional problems.
    • Consult with engineering firms on reading specifications.
    • Test control system performance during in-house manufacturing and during on-site start-ups.
    • Coordinate field start-up, test systems, etc.
    • Represent TAW® as the Lead Person at job sites.
    • Travel to customer sites and projects.
    • All other duties as assigned.
    • Observe all safety procedures and policies and use proper protective equipment (especially eye, ear protection and steel toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc.)
    • Keep work area clean and organized.
    • Report all injuries, near misses and accidents immediately to a supervisor.

    Required Skills

    • B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 3-4 years of experience or A.S. in Engineering Technology with 5+ years of experience.
    • Theory, design, programming, and troubleshooting of PLC-based control systems.
    • Minimum 3 years PLC/VFD programming experience to include one or more of the following: Modicon, Allen Bradley and Siemens.
    • Minimum 3 years developing HMI and SCADA interfaces to include one or more of the following: Wonderware, IFix, VT SCADA and RSView.
    • Past experience working with water/wastewater preferred.
    • Ability to program within multiple PLC and VFD platforms, a plus.
    • AutoCAD experience is a plus.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong experience guiding customers on program usage.
    • Display a high level of critical thinking to resolve complex and cross-functional problems.
    • Ability to read and interpret schematic wiring diagrams and P&ID drawings.
    • Ability to troubleshoot existing PLC programs and industrial control panel electrical logic.
    • Ability to think creatively and formulate solutions to a given task.
    • Ability to work with mechanical and electrical engineers to achieve desire equipment performance.
    • Ability to work with vendors and clients on project specifications
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and network equipment interfaces.
    • Some travel required, most within a 150-mile radius of Tampa, FL.
