Lead Software Engineer LOCATION: Remote or NJ office PROEJCT DETAILS: The DataSet Framework provides: a simple mechanism for defining, collecting, discovering, and tracking data. maintaining the uniqueness of data across various lines of business. granting and gaining access to integrated data from various sources. a means to describe the available data assets, the underlying logical data contained in those assets, preventing data breaches and misuse of data. protecting data to avoid penalties from various government bodies. The datasets framework uses policy as code (prm policy kind and opa engine) allowing access to the available data assets, allowing access to move the assets to the cloud or within the cloud recording and allowing audit of intent to act on those assets, and applying row, column, and set permissions at runtime, operationally, in an automated fashion. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for driving engineering outcomes for product development teams, as well as increasing the technology evolution for our Data Externalization platforms. This person will be accountable for helping to both introduce new approaches for externalizing data, as well as fully automating the solutions on top of existing technologies, or through utilization of Open Source technologies. Primary Responsibilities: Implementing API and data streaming capabilities, engineering telemetry solutions, building cloud deployment platforms, and working across fully automated stacks in a CI / CD ecosystem Implementing the datasets framework which is a means of defining, collection, discovering data and using policy as code to describe assets, underlying data and auditing and applying row column permissions in run time in an automated manner. Architecture, Design and Implement product features in collaboration with IT stakeholders Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solutions Engineer innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business Implement best practices and coding standards of the project. Ensure their team delivers value to customers. Guide their team with company values. Abide by all the project and company guidelines and standards and to ensure that even the team members are doing so. Reviewing the decisions, the team makes to ensure consistency and alignment with the vision. Work on constantly increasing the productivity of the team and reducing the waste on the other end. Lead the team successfully and set targets and expectations for the team. Work on identifying the project risk and planning mitigation action with the PM at project level. Create and implement risk mitigation processes and conduct security audits to determine weaknesses in applications. Maintaining the project technical vision clear for everyone, from beginning to end. Mentoring team members. Team player and works well with team members Good communicator Required Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience Experience with engineering platforms at scale in public + private clouds Experience working across fully automated stacks in a CI/CD ecosystem Agile DevOps delivery model experience 5 + experience in technical lead position and providing technical guidance to team. Technical Skills o 8+ years' experience writing API's using core Java (utilizing frameworks like Spring Boot, etc.) o 5+ years REST API design (including micro-services) o 5+ years CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, XL Deploy/XL Release, etc.) o 3 + years' experience with container technologies (e.g. OpenShift , Kubernetes, AWS, Azure) o 3+ years various frameworks (e.g. Splunk, ELK, etc.) o 5+ year data streaming experience with Frameworks like Kafka etc. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with event driven architecture and technologies Experience with distributed data stores at scale Active in working with emerging technologies. Experience working effectively across multiple functional areas in a matrixed environment Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks Translates concepts into practice Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues Coaches, provides feedback, and guides others Acts as a resource for others with less experience experience with Cassandra, Kafka, Prometheus, Grafana experience with test case automation Experience in agile environments (using tools like CA Agile Central) What are the work hours?
