Job Description
A growing Hispanic Supermarket specializing in Mexican, Caribbean, and Latin American specialty foods, produce and bake goods. We are seeking a full-time Human Resource Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of progressive human resource experience including, Succession Planning, Benefits Implementation and Administration, Compensation Analysis, Organizational Development, Retention and Performance Management. Must be bi-lingual speaking Spanish. The hours are Monday- Friday. Some Saturdays may be required.
REPORTS TO: CFO and Controller
JOB OVERVIEW:
The candidate will be responsible for directing the strategic and day-to-day functions and activities of payroll and human resources organization to include, but not limited to: processing payroll, Organizational Development, Retention, Performance Management and Career Development (including performance reviews, performance plans, and training), Employee Relations and Compliance, Compensation and Benefits.
JOB DUTIES:
ACTIVELY PARTICIPATES WITH BUSINESS LEADERSHIP IN STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATIONAL PLANNING TO ENSURE THAT HR SERVICES ARE STRONGLY ALIGNED WITH AND DRIVES ORGANIZATIONAL OBJECTIVES.
Process Payroll for several entities on a weekly basis.
Address employees inquiries regarding payroll and human resources related matter
Assess organizational capabilities and identifies skill gaps. Actively participates with business leadership to source, evaluate, select and onboard talent.
Direct, recommend, and proactively communicates appropriate corporate and local implementation of HR policies, practices and initiatives
Work collaboratively with operations management to establish employee training and development programs through local government and educational institutions
Advise and coach managers on resolving employee issues. Manage complex or significant employee relations issues, including investigations and resolutions.
Develop and oversee job evaluations and annual review programs. Collaboratively create development plans and coach individuals in achieving them.

Evaluate and benchmark compensation programs to establish and ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance including but not limited to: equal employment opportunity/affirmative action, wage and hour, and work authorization; stays abreast of pending and new legislation; prepares and interprets employee statistics for government reporting
QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL ATTRIBUTES:
· Bi-lingual, fluent in English/ Spanish a must.
· Familiar with Paychex Software
· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business or applicable field of study
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize in fast-paced environment
· Solid communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills
· Good record-keeping skills with strong attention to detail
· Strong computer skills - MS Office - Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
