    We offer a comprehensive fitness program in a group setting and we are looking for the right trainers/group fitness instructors/boxers/martial artist that are interested in being part of the Tapout Fitness Family!! The brand has been rooted in martial arts and we are committed to the brand excellence of discipline, determination, and motivation while inspiring the athlete in every individual and supporting each team member. Our group fitness instructor will need to lead and motivate members through a pre-arranged format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness while ensuring member safety. The group fitness instructor will serve as a resource of education to the various aspects of fitness.

    Responsibilities:

    Lead and deliver fun, safe group fitness classes based on industry standards and approved formats that begin and end promptly and adheres to formats, standards, and scheduled times.

    Instruct participants on effective workout methods; explain proper technique, demonstrate exercises, identify different muscle groups, and teach appropriate methods and modifications

    Provide verbal instructions that are clear and ensure that volume, tempo of music, and overall atmosphere is motivational and conducive to learning, hearing, teaching, and having fun with high energy.

    Coach and motivate class participants to achieve fitness goals and continually monitor for signs of injury, illness, or overexertion.

    Interact with participants, answer questions, introduce/orient new participants, generate and maintain a positive exercise experience, solicit feedback in order to maintain long-term participation and member retention

    Ensure all participants are using correct form during class and offer modifications and variations of activities to accommodate fitness levels

    Maintain and demonstrate a positive and professional attitude toward his/her responsibilities, fellow associates, members, and guests.

    Represent and promote the Tapout Fitness Family in a positive and professional manner and adhere to appropriate fitness attire (refrain from revealing or inappropriate attire)

    Consistently deliver scheduled class as posted on schedule and actively coordinate a qualified/approved substitute in the event of necessary absence in order to avoid cancellations.

    Provide legally purchased music appropriate for the class format and refrain from using music that contains foul or offensive language or content.

    Ensures all equipment is functioning correctly and microphones are in working order.

    Maintain cleanliness of facility and ensure equipment is properly put away and sound system is turned off.

    Have a working knowledge of all Tapout Fitness training equipment and safety guidelines.

    Promptly notify management of any equipment or facility repair needs.

    Prepare any incident and/or witness reports as necessary in the event of accidents

    Accurately and consistently record hours worked and class attendance information in a timely manner

    Attend all required staff meetings and trainings to improve/expand skill sets.

    Uphold the company's vision, mission, values, code of conduct, and culture while complying with policies and procedures.

    Willingness to support and participate with Tapout Fitness promos, on-sites, community events, etc.

    Qualifications:

    Current CPR/AED certification with basic first aid training

    Minimum of 1 year teaching in a group exercise environment along with demonstrated knowledge of group exercise principles and safe exercise techniques

    Maintain nationally recognized Group Fitness certification by ACE, AFAA, ACSM'

    Provide verifiable proof of specialized skill/training such as Boxing, Kickboxing or Martial Arts

    Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies.

    Knowledge of basic physiology, human anatomy, kinesiology, body mechanics, and training principles.

    Ability to create and/or follow appropriate choreography combinations to be taught within the parameters of the class format

    Positive and effective interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others.

    Ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment.

    Availability to train multiple classes.

    Degree in Exercise Science, Sports Nutrition, Physical Education, or other related fields are a plus.

    Any experience in Boxing, Kickboxing, or Martial Arts a plus but not required.

    Must complete background check for felony convictions.

    Working Conditions:

    Must have the physical ability to conduct classes and activities.

    Must have the ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

    Must possess the ability to correct unsafe movements, deliver instructions to a variety of learning styles and respond to the need of a large diverse group as it relates to group exercise classes
