Job Description

We are looking for an Accountant to join our team! We are a small company that is growing and scaling quickly. We own and operate high end and high volume travel centers. We currently have 50 employees and two locations. We are building two more locations in the next 12 months. Up until this point, we have contracted out our accounting needs, but we are reaching a size where we need to bring it in house. We set the job post as part time, but the position could grow to full time as soon as the work load warrants it. You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company. You will be our first accounting hire, so we are really looking for someone with a very strong knowledge of accounting and finance who can grow with our company into an executive position. We are based in Midland, TX, but we think the job could be done remotely with one day every two weeks spent in Midland. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
• Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
• Report analysis and findings to management team

​QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• We currently use Quickbooks for our accounting software, so a strong knowledge of Quickbooks is a big plus!
