Job Description:
We are looking for a Lead Culinary Instructor to teach cooking classes to kids, families, and adults! You will also help to train our team of instructors. Looking for high-energy individuals who are passionate about food and inspiring those around them to have fun in the Kitchen. You are as comfortable engaging kids as you are with adults and corporate events; as passionate about chiffonading basil as you are about rolling fresh pasta and decorating cupcakes.
Responsibilities:
Open availability is required, including nights and weekends. Taste Buds Kitchen hosts events 7-days a week.
Instruct cooking classes, camps, and parties for ages 2-99
Engage and teach guests about various cooking/baking skills related to the class menu
Create a friendly, energetic, and consistent experience for our guests
Interact with all guests to ensure customer satisfaction
Set up before class and clean-up after
Help in onboarding, training, and mentoring new staff
Be the perfect example and role model of what is expected of a Culinary Instructor
Act as an emergency substitute if an employee cannot attend their shift
Qualifications:
Self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment and move quickly
Natural curiosity and passion for food & culinary entertainment
Upbeat personality with a smile on your face a majority of the time.
Eagerness to get your hands dirty
Great communication skills with all ages
Confident with a range of cooking and baking techniques and speaking in front of a group with an amplified speaking voice
At least one or more years of experience entertaining kids and/or adults
Formal culinary education or relevant restaurant experience is a plus
Formal teaching experience and training in education, childhood development, or related field a plus
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 45 pounds
Must pass a background check and be first aid/CPR certified
1+ years of supervisory experience with direct interaction with employees
Very detail-oriented with a critical eye
Must enjoy the atmosphere of a small business
