Responsibilities:
Accounting and Finances:
Manage day-to-day accounting for all locations (8 bistros, 1 market, and commissary) all off-site events and e-commerce, including all account (bank and non-bank) reconciliations, general ledger, accounts payable & receivable, deposits, payroll, etc.
Produce financial statements, keep accounting records and maintain the chart of accounts
Manage cash flow and ensure accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Make sure all debts, taxes, rent and insurance payments are made in a timely manner
Support in maintaining proper controls over cash
Develop the annual budget and store level forecasts (with input from senior management)
Manage and define performance based bonus for GMs and upper management.
Develop long term financial strategy based on projected growth (with input from senior management)
Assist with all financial aspects including budgets and projections for new store openings (including upcoming commissary)
Human Resources:
Review accuracy of payroll filings as prepared by outsource provider (double check HR numbers)
Make sure all tax advantages are being used (Work opportunity tax credit, Empowerment zones, FICA tip credit)
Operations:
Make sure all insurance policies are current and that we have proper coverage
Provide strategic support and analysis to the senior leadership team
Work with restaurant management to maintain inventory controls and manage those weekly (inventory is done weekly for all restaurant locations)
Conduct inventory audits and report results to senior management
Desired Skills and Experience
7-8 years restaurant accounting experience
Accounting degree, CPA desired
Proven experience to manage an accounting staff and outsourced partners
Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
Demonstrated hands-on skills in general accounting, account analysis and reconciliation, financial reporting and/or financial planning, modeling and analysis
Understanding of restaurant operations and ability to present solutions for any issues resulting in financial loss or increased costs
Familiar with restaurant 13 x 4-weeks periods accounting
Solid understanding of state and federal sales and payroll tax requirements
Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Experience with restaurant POS system
Experience and understanding of restaurant controls
