  • Responsibilities

    The role of barbacks at Robert Renzoni Vineyards is a fundamental one. Above all else, a barbacks’ main function is to support the tasting room and wine club servers so they can provide the highest quality customer service to our guests. Barbacks are not only responsible for providing the servers with the tools needed to perform customer service, but they are also expected to anticipate the needs of the servers. In addition to server support, an employee in the role of barback is required to maintain cleanliness and organization of key areas of the property.

    Barback Requirements

    To succeed in the barback role, an individual must possess the following qualities:

    -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    -A positive attitude

    -Be punctual

    -Lift a minimum of 50lbs

    -Stand for 8 hours

    -Take direction and instruction from all members of management team

    -Use a hand dolly

    -Have clear verbal communication skills

    -Have a willingness to learn

    -Ability to move from one task to another

    -Ability to prioritize job duties during peak business hours

    -Be presentable and in uniform

    Barback Job Duties & Responsibilities

    For barbacks to perform satisfactorily in their role, the following job duties must be completed continuously every shift. To excel in this role, barbacks should anticipate the needs of servers and management:

    -Retrieving dirty glassware, polishing glassware, restocking glassware for the Tasting Room.

    -Maintain cleanliness and organization of the utility room. This includes the counters being clean, shelving organized, trash and recycling organized, and cupboards organized.

    -Empty all trash as needed, both behind the bar and in customer areas.

    -Taking out all trash, cardboard, and recycling and disposing of each properly in the designated dumpsters.

    -Restocking wine in Tasting Room refrigerators and wine on the wall as needed.

    -Carrying out purchases for guests upon servers’ request.

    -Checking public restrooms as needed and troubleshooting any issues that relate to this task.

    -Sweeping and mopping of floors at the end of day, and/or as needed with spills and messes.

    -Cleaning glass rack and polishing station at the end of the day.

    While this is a comprehensive list of duties, employees in this role may be asked to perform any tasks that relate to servers and management providing customer/hospitality services to our guests.
