The Opportunity
The Tax Associate is a full-time, entry-level position within our heavily tax-focused department. Working under the guidance of a Senior Accountant, you will serve as the foundation of our client service delivery in a fast-paced role with daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual to launch a long-term career in public accounting and become an expert in taxation.
Key Responsibilities
● Tax Preparation & Compliance: Play a critical role in our tax workflow by accurately preparing, organizing, and entering client tax data for individuals and businesses into our professional tax software (ProSeries). Your precision directly enables our senior staff to focus on high-level client strategy.
● Data Integrity & Bookkeeping: Ensure the integrity of client financial data by meticulously categorizing transactions in QuickBooks Online, performing monthly bank reconciliations, and preparing foundational workpapers.
Team Collaboration: Actively participate in regular team meetings, assist senior staff with special projects, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and process improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
● A minimum of one year of recent experience preparing individual and/or business tax returns within a public accounting firm is required.
● Familiarity with fundamental bookkeeping and accounting principles.
● Must currently reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
● Must be able to pass a comprehensive background and credit check.
