  • Responsibilities

    The CPA or Enrolled Agent’s primary goal is to support our Attorneys by assisting with legal research, drafting Collection Information Statements, drafting correspondence to the IRS, calling the ACS and Practitioner’s line to obtain case information, and preparing attorneys for hearings. Enrolled Agents and CPAs work under the direction and supervision of an Attorney. An Enrolled Agent or CPA provides quality legal services to clients at a lower billable rate than an Attorney, and by doing so, benefits both the Firm and clients. Enrolled Agents and CPAs are required to meet the minimum billable requirements set by the Firm. Responsibilities: • Ensure calendar deadlines and case milestones are added to the Firm’s Master Calendar and in the Case Management system to ensure no deadlines are missed and cases move forward • Review upcoming Deadlines • Prioritize task workload to ensure efficiency and productivity • Draft correspondence • Prepare power of attorney forms and Collection Information Statements • Call IRS practitioners and ACS hotlines • Review IRS transcript reports • Contemporaneously enter billable and non-billable time in the Case Management System • Update clients • Meet with the Legal Team for case status updates Qualifications: • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • 4-year degree in accounting or finance • Basic computer skills and capacity for using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level • Understands state and federal tax laws and can quickly interpret sections of the tax code for basic and atypical tax forms Compensation: $80,000
