    Summary

    As a Leasing Agent, you will be instrumental in facilitating property leasing and ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations. Reporting to the Property Manager, your core responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, managing tenant relations, and maintaining knowledge of landlord-tenant law. Your premium skills in conflict management and familiarity with property management software like Yardi and OneSite will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Additionally, your relevant skills in negotiation, contracts, and customer relationship management will support our goal of delivering outstanding service to prospective tenants and maintaining high occupancy rates.

    Responsibilities

    Manage tenant credit applications and screening processes.

    • Screens prospective residents and records information to ascertain needs and qualifications (i.e. legal/regulatory, community and income criteria).
    • Accompanies prospects to apartment model and tour of property to discuss amenities, size and layout of rooms, available facilities, such as swimming pool, location of shopping centers, services available, and terms of lease.
    • Must master the terminology of lease agreement and the ability to explain the terms of the agreement to the prospective resident. In addition, completes lease agreements for new and renewal leases.
    • Must become familiar with applicable Landlord/Tenant laws in the respective state.
    • Process and coordinate operational and planning aspects of “move-in” and “move-outs”.
    • Obtain renewals on expiring leases 3 months before expiration.
    • Analyze credit reports and financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma required. Some college preferred.
    • 1-3 years experience in leasing, apartment property management preferred.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Yardi or One-site software experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and LIHTC a plus.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
