About the Role:
Lead the firm’s tax engagements, manage client relationships, and oversee complex tax compliance and consulting projects. This is not a training-wheels job. You’ll supervise staff, review work, and serve as the technical expert for all things tax.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and review federal, state, and local tax returns for businesses, individuals, and other entities.
Provide tax planning, research, and consulting to clients on a variety of tax issues (compliance, strategy, entity structuring, etc.).
Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff and seniors; delegate and review their work.
Act as main point of contact for assigned clients; resolve issues, answer tax questions, and deliver excellent service.
Stay up-to-date with changes in tax law and regulations; ensure compliance and minimize risk.
Assist with tax provision work and support audits as needed.
Participate in business development (referrals, proposals, networking) as appropriate.
Requirements:
Active CPA license (non-negotiable).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax.
Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes.
Demonstrated experience managing people and projects.
Excellent communication and client service skills.
Proficiency with tax software and MS Office Suite.
Preferred:
Experience with construction clients.
Experience with tax provision/ASC 740.
