Our Client is a well-established global investment management firm with over $200 billion in assets under management is seeking a Manager, Tax [exact title] to join its team. The firm specializes in alternative investments and applies a value-driven, risk-managed approach across a broad spectrum of asset classes. Responsibilities:
The Manager will play a key role in transforming the firm’s tax reporting function, focusing on the delivery of real-time tax data and analytics to enhance decision-making and reporting accuracy. This position will collaborate across departments—tax, accounting, equity, operations, and IT—as well as with external service providers to ensure tax-sensitive, validated financial and legal entity data across complex business structures.
Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing tax deliverables and coordinating with external service providers
Managing strategic tax initiatives and tracking legislative changes
Delivering timely, accurate tax information for internal stakeholders and equity holders
Ensuring compliance with federal, international, state, and local tax requirements
Reviewing book/tax differences, tax allocations, capital accounts, and partner allocations
Supporting tax implications of cross-border transactions
Reviewing quarterly tax estimates, annual K-1s, and withholding documents
Drafting internal communications and correspondence with tax authorities
Managing documentation and responses for audits
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; CPA preferred from TOP CPA firms; Master’s degree a plus
5+ years of relevant tax experience from public accounting and/or public/private mix
SEC Financial Reporting experience desired [exp with publicly traded companies]
Solid understanding of general accounting; experience with financial investments is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Demonstrated initiative, strong work ethic, and professionalism
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, team-oriented, and customer-focused
Comfortable working under tight deadlines during peak tax seasons
Compensation:
Base Salary: up to $135,000
Eligible for discretionary bonuses [approx 10-15%]
