We are seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer (CPA) to join our team for the upcoming tax season. The ideal candidate will have several seasons of tax preparation experience and a strong background handling both personal and business tax returns , with particular expertise in small business returns. This role is highly client-facing, so excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential. The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running by mid-January and may be considered for a full-time opportunity if the fit is right.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual (Form 1040) and business tax returns (e.g., 1120, 1120-S, 1065) with accuracy and efficiency. 
- Collaborate directly with clients to gather necessary information, explain tax matters clearly, and resolve inquiries. 
- Identify potential tax credits, deductions, and strategies to minimize client liabilities. 
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. 
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data. 
- Manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively during peak season.
Qualifications
- Active CPA license required. 
- 2+ seasons of professional tax preparation experience. 
- Strong knowledge of small business tax returns and relevant IRS regulations. 
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and MS Office Suite. 
- Excellent interpersonal and client service skills. 
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. 
- Available to begin work mid-January with flexibility for extended hours during peak tax season.
