Leverage your hands-on tax accounting experience to source, screen, and place top talent across public and corporate tax functions.

    What You’ll Do

    • Talent Sourcing & Outreach * Source tax professionals through LinkedIn, referrals, email campaigns, and networking events. * Build and maintain a pipeline of high-caliber candidates across corporate and public accounting.
    • Candidate Management * Conduct phone and video screenings to assess skills, experience, and cultural fit. * Develop lasting relationships with candidates—be their trusted career advisor.
    • Client Partnership * Collaborate with hiring managers at top firms to understand their tax-specific hiring needs. * Present qualified candidates, coordinate interviews, and manage the offer process.
    • Market Expertise * Stay current on tax regulations, industry trends, and key players in the DFW market and beyond. * Represent NextStep Recruiting at local and virtual tax events.

    What We’re Looking For

    Tax Accounting Background: 2+ years of hands-on tax experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department.

    • Educational Credentials: A bachelor’s degree is required; CPA, CMI, or other tax certifications are a plus.
    • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication; comfortable building rapport with senior-level candidates and clients.
    • Self-Starter Mindset: Motivated to learn recruiting best practices, hit targets, and contribute to a growing practice.
    • Team Player: Enjoy collaborating with a close-knit, high-energy team and sharing insights on tax hiring trends.
