The candidate will join a collaborative team in a flexible work environment. Looking for an energetic self-starter able to succeed in a nontraditional accounting setting to broaden experience in tax. This role is ideal for someone with solid tax preparation skills who enjoys hands-on work, learning, and direct involvement in tax compliance and tax operations. Responsibilities: • Assist with tax compliance and preparation of federal, state, local, and business tax returns for partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, and business taxes. • Including extensions, estimates, and related filings. • Input and manage data in tax preparation software. • Preparation of tax workpapers and book-to-tax adjustments. • Prepare and support depreciation schedules using fixed asset software. • Assist in resolving tax controversy matters, including making phone calls to the IRS and state agencies to resolve notices and obtain account information. • Maintain organized, confidential tax files and documentation. • Use Microsoft Excel to prepare clear and well-organized summary tables, charts, and basic pivot tables, and utilize basic Excel formulas • Support audits, information requests, and internal reporting. • Assist senior tax team members with research and special projects. • Perform other related duties and assignments as assigned to support the tax department. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. • Prefer 1-3 years of federal and state partnership tax preparation experience in public accounting or in-house environment. • An active CPA license or CPA candidate is preferred. • Experience with tax preparation software (i.e., UltraTax) and Microsoft Office (Excel). • Experience with QuickBooks and fixed asset software (Prosystems fx) is a plus. • Ability to work independently with guidance, take ownership, think critically, and monitor deadlines. • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members. • Able to follow established procedures while appropriately escalating issues • Positive, proactive, organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented.
