    Job Description

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and quickly growing Sales and Use Tax company in Alpharetta, Georgia! We are currently hiring for a entry-level Sales Tax Associate. Are you passionate about finance? We are looking for people that are looking to start their career and learn about the complexities of sales tax while helping for our clients and leading our team into further success!

    The Sales Tax Associate is a critical member of the TaxConnex Client Activation team and provides ongoing support through individual project management of various initiatives during the onboarding process. The role will work in a matrix structure collaborating with compliance and data specialists to ensure client success. 

     

    KEY FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

    • Manage New Compliance Client Account Set-Up Tasks and schedule
    • Ensure accurate and timely communication with the Sales Tax Client Activation Manage regarding ongoing requirements for project completion
    • Maintain strict schedules to meet client activation/onboarding timelines
    • Set-up internal client profiles in proprietary TaxConnex systems
    • Create activation documentation for initial client meetings
    • Verify E-file login credentials and obtain prior period data from jurisdiction websites
    • Register clients in new jurisdictions

     

    SALES & USE TAX COMPLIANCE

    • Complete sales and use tax monthly compliance for assigned Prior Period Projects (file and remit tax returns)
    • Timely transmittal of accurately prepared tax returns to jurisdictions in accordance with the Client tax calendar
    • Provide standard and customized report preparation
    • Management of payments (debits, credits, and check) to jurisdictions
    • Assist with any other Sales & Use tax projects as needed

     

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS  

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business or other equivalent degree plus experience is highly preferred
    • Strong communication skills to work effectively with various departments and levels of management
    • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and validate client provided transactional data
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet strict activation and filing deadlines
