****This position is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production schedule. Duties include determining the sequence of finished goods production based on allergens, available ingredients, and equipment tooling. The position is also responsible for preparing status and performance reports and resolving production issues. The plan is used to determine material, equipment, and labor requirements, which highlights the need for accuracy and attention to detail.
Essential Duties:
Evaluating sales orders and delivery schedule to create suitable production schedules.
Forecast production amounts to ensure product availability for short lead time orders or gaps in the production schedule.
Creating work orders used to estimate the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
Coordinating production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
Making changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner.
Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
**Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities: **
Use ERP (Axapta), MRP (DSX), and Power BI (Microsoft) systems to determine manufacturing requirements.
Forecast product required to cover any missing or quick turn-around orders.
Evaluate excess product reports to determine root cause and take corrective action.
Review inventory for raw materials and ingredients to determine available items for production.
Create production schedule to meet the needs of customers and trucking schedule, while taking into account allergen, labor, raw material, and capacity restrictions
Adjust production schedule, as needed, to accommodate production or equipment delays, changing priorities, or other reasons.
Work with multiple departments, such as Quality Assurance, Production, Warehouse, Procurement, Sales and Transportation, to ensure all Food Safety and Customer requirements are met.
Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements :
High School Diploma, college degree preferred.
Previous manufacturing or processing background preferred, including a thorough understanding of process flows.
Familiarity with requirements in a food facility a plus.
Strong Computer Skills a must, especially in Excel, Word, Power BI, and Outlook.
Ability to gather, consolidate, and utilize data from a variety of different sources.
Experience working with ERP and MRP systems required, knowledge in WMS is preferred.
Must have strong communication and math skills.
Bi-lingual preferred
Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Required to be responsive after hours by text, phone, and email.
Must have good organizational.
Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to work with different departments within all levels of the company.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work in a 38-degree temp occasionally..
Use of hair nets, ear plugs, and other GMP items as required.
Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
