Under the general supervision of the Director of Public Services, the Circulation Services Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the library’s Circulation Services. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the specific duties listed below.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates, counsels and disciplines student work staff; maintain student employment budget for academic year
- Works with Circulation Supervisors to coordinate circulation desk operations, student work scheduling, shelving, materials exchange, equipment maintenance and clerical support functions
- Ensure compliance to confidentiality policies and FERPA requirements
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve library computer and printing issues
- Report and resolve problems related to patron issues, circulating materials and equipment
- Interpret library policies and procedures using judgement and discretion; address student holds, interpret fee policy and adjust charges
- Schedules the use of study rooms
- Opens the library and closes the library as needed
- Maintains current knowledge of the circulation module of the library’s integrated system, including, but not limited to, running circulation reports, maintaining circulation statistics, setting material due and user expiration dates
- Staffs the Circulation desk as necessary
- Handles numerous circulation-related transactions, including charging, discharging, and renewing library materials and reserves, creating and editing user records, and creating temporary WMS records
- Employs special procedures for AV equipment, including erasing data, recharging devices, ensuring that contents are included when items are checked in and out, and reporting broken equipment
- Stays current with library and emerging technologies
- Demonstrates an active concern for meeting the needs of students, staff and University communities.
- Engages in Library planning committees and programing activities to engage University community
- Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associate degree; Bachelor's degree preferred

Required Experience
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Familiarity with standard office computer software and procedures
- Experience supervising work-study students
- Experience using databases, such as WorldShare Management System (WMS) or other integrated library system. and using productivity software such as Microsoft Office
Salary Grade: 5
