    Job Description

    We have an opportunity to join our Global Peer Review team as a Systems Support Coordinator. Reporting to the Systems Support Manager, the Systems Support Coordinator acts as an expert in Editorial Manager for journals in our portfolio. You will play a key role in ensuring that journals’ peer review systems are aligned with the requirements of Taylor & Francis and their academic fields. While you don’t need prior publishing or peer review system experience, as full training on our systems and processes will be provided, you should have a genuine interest in learning about academic publishing, new systems and identifying areas for improvement to workflows.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

    Help us progress human progress through knowledge! As a Systems Support Coordinator you will aid in our mission by:

    • Delivering high quality Editorial Manager support services, covering systems maintenance and user education for our diverse journal portfolio.
    • Using our internal case management system to respond to in-coming user queries in a helpful and efficient manner; offering user support that reduces variation and improves standardization across our systems estate, keeping the author in mind as the key customer.
    • Providing user training for external and internal customers.
    • Supporting key projects and initiatives across the Global Peer Review team and the wider publishing business.
    • Maintaining a knowledge of key legal and ethical industry standards to inform your day-to-day work.
    • Testing new system features, feeding back to managers or vendors as necessary.
    • Identifying recurring or frequent issues to your line manager for solution-finding and process documentation.
    • Acting as a point of escalation for vendor-based staff working on our Journals Helpdesk and creating process documentation for the Helpdesk team

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating a strong attention to detail
    • Ability to influence and persuade whilst maintaining a customer focus
    • Sound judgement in handling and communicating information sensitively and professionally
    • Effective team player: you share knowledge with your team, contribute to shared goals and are able to prioritize workload effectively to accommodate competing demands.
    • Lifelong learner and growth mindset, prepared to manage own learning by identifying skills gaps and proactively seeking line manager support to address them.

    THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT REQUIRED, BUT WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS:

    • Experience with Editorial Manager, or another peer review management system such as ScholarOne Manuscripts
    • Basic project management skills: an understanding of Agile methodologies and/or Lean process improvement principles.
    • Financial, industry and Commercial awareness: an understanding of academic publishing, peer review and/or Open Access

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

    LOCATION: This role will be based remotely from home although occasional travel may be required. Applicants from any part of the US are welcome, but you must be available to work during our core hours of 9am-5pm Eastern Time.

    SALARY RANGE: $45,000 - $46,630
