    Job Description

    Do you love engaging with the content of key books? Are you a creative self-starter with a knack for social media? The Education, Psychology, and Mental Health team seeks a proactive and energetic individual to support the Editorial department with some of our high profile authors. You will focus on maintaining relationships with current bestselling authors and identifying potential new ones through a variety of tasks, such as creating content pieces, maintaining a robust social media presence, and working with external partners.

    This is a unique opportunity to work across a global Editorial team to support the work of several of our most successful and prominent authors. We are looking for a skilled communicator who wants to engage fully with the content and work of our authors, who is fluid in social media management and audience building, and who is excited by the creative possibilities of this role.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Supporting and meeting with (virtually and potentially in-person as budget allows) identified key authors to maintain loyalty and build author networks
    • Curating and maintaining a robust social media presence to support authors, build author brand recognition, and generate new commissioning leads
    • Creating and implementing a content calendar to suggest and produce lively, engaging Editorial content pieces for identified authors
    • Researching conference programs, journals, magazines, and organizations for new opportunities and commissioning leads
    • Working with internal partners to support authors with speaking events, webinars, online video content, and other resources to support their publications
    • Working with external partners to support authors with opportunities such as webinars, speaking events, podcasts, and other promotional spaces
    • Reporting on key metrics to Editors

    Qualifications

    What we're looking for:

    • A confident written and verbal communicator who is able to build strong working relationships across an external network and internal departments
    • Previous knowledge of and preferably experience with a variety of social media platforms (such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube)
    • Strong organizational skills; the ability to balance a variety of responsibilities and handle many projects simultaneously
    • The ability to assimilate information quickly and identify key selling points
    • Must be willing to work across a large team
    • An interest or background in education (and particularly U.S. literacy education) is not required, but is a plus
    • Candidates should be energetic, proactive, and creative, and may be asked to submit writing samples should they be invited for second interviews

    • You must have the right to work and live in United States
    • This is a hybrid role with options to work from our Philadelphia, PA, Boca Raton, FL, or New York, NY offices
    • Domestic and international travel to T&F offices may be required

    • Starting rate ranging from $22.53 - $25.27 per hour ($41,000 - $46,000 annually) commensurate with experience and geographic location
