SCHOOL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE, WEST CHESTER, PA

TAYLOR’S MUSIC STORE is a family-oriented, full-line modern music store offering sales, service, rentals, and lessons and has been in business over 90 years. TAYLOR’S is seeking a full-time School Services Representative. This permanent, full-time SCHOOL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE position will develop, promote, manage, and grow Taylor’s school instrument rental and sales program by cultivating relationships with educators and school administrative personnel in surrounding school districts.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

GROW AND MANAGE SCHOOL RENTAL INSTRUMENT PROGRAM

· Deliver and pick up school rental instruments and merchandise to surrounding school districts

· Process and track online rental requests

· Cultivate relationships with educators, key decision makers, administrators, and supervisors to provide total customer satisfaction

· Prospect new schools to achieve program growth

· Track competitor programs, rental pricing, and market trends and offer recommendations for adjustments and positive change

· Maintain consistent delivery / pick up schedule and communicate to all customers and Taylor’s staff

· Communicate Taylor’s Rental Program to schools through presentations, flyers, emails, etc.

· Attend school-sponsored meetings, luncheons, events on behalf of Taylor’s Music

DEVELOP AND RESPOND TO SCHOOL/INSTITUTIONAL REQUESTS FOR BID

· Research and recommend products requested by schools and institutions

· Create Proposals for school / institutional review

· Work closely with Taylor’s owner and store buyer to develop lengthy or complex institutional bids

· Follow up with any delivery or set-up requirements

ACT AS INSTITUTIONAL LIAISON FOR TAYLOR’S MUSIC

· Act as point contact for all school / institutional questions, requests, sales, and service

· Manage school instrument repair needs and requirements including pick-up and drop-off

· Follow up in a consistent, timely, and professional manor

GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE

· Run all sales and service through store Point of Purchase software

· Work closely with Taylor’s buyer to manage inventory levels and anticipate institutional needs

· Work closely with Office Manager to process and track all online rental requests

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

· Ability to initiate, develop, and foster business relationships across all levels of personnel in schools and institutions

· Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work with sales staff, management, vendors, and customers in a professional manor

· Ability to understand and address school and institutional issues from an educator’s perspective

· Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Highly organized and detail oriented with a drive for a high level of accuracy

· Familiar with using computer-based Point of Sale (POS) programs preferred

· Must exhibit confidentiality practices when working with sensitive information

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum of a College degree

· Prior teaching experience preferred, and familiarity with surrounding school districts is a plus

· 5 or more years work experience

· Valid Driver’s License with good driving record

· Multiple background checks and clearances are required

· Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, and carry instruments 50 yards or more

· Requires being in the field visiting schools / institutions 90% of the time and 10% in-store work
