We are seeking a 6th-12th grades Humanities teacher for an interdisciplinary English/History/Bible course. These 3 subjects have a natural connection that provides an in-depth understanding of each content area, allowing the light bulb to come on for the first time for many students. We are in need of a passionate, creative educator who embraces a Biblical worldview and is interested in teaching in innovative ways that truly impact the lives of our out of the box scholars.
Hours: Mondays-Thursdays 8:00-4:00
Fridays: Review and Planning Day- 8:00-1:30 on non-staff meeting Friday
Responsibilities:
Plan lessons that meet school and state standards and expectations
Encourage the development of students’ creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills
Provide personalized and differentiated learning for all students
Grade assignments and provide feedback
Document students’ learning progress
Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding progress updates
Collaborate with other teachers and school personnel to create a safe and productive learning environment
Report and document behavioral incidents
Establish a Christ honoring, positive, well managed classroom
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Teaching certification or in position to become certified
Previous experience teaching English or History preferred
Understanding of best practices in education and classroom management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
