Job Summary

We are a small school located in a very diverse, multi-cultural neighborhood in Brooklyn. Our program has been serving Sunset Park since 1984.

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Assistant Teacher to support our infant and toddler class. This position involves working with children ranging from 0-6 years of age. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday with a typical shift of 9-5. Extended hours as needed

We are a 12-month program. Our school follows the DOE calendar for holidays and closures.

Salary is based on experience and educational background

General Accountabilities

Provide a safe, nuturing environment while supporting children's social, emotional, cognitve and physical development.

Follow routines for feeding, sleeping and diapering

Ensure constant supervision

Collaborate with Co-teacher and adminstrative staff

Comply with DOH and center policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma

Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred

CDA credential preferred

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a childcare center

Must pass Criminal Background check

Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred

Punctuality and reliabilty required
