    Position Overview

    The Teacher Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and supporting our team of swim teachers to ensure consistently high-quality lessons, strong customer satisfaction, and a positive, growth-oriented work culture. This role combines leadership, coaching, scheduling oversight, and hands-on operational support.

    Key Responsibilities

    Teacher Leadership & Development

    Recruit, hire, and onboard new swim teachers.

    Provide ongoing training, skill development, and in-water coaching.

    Conduct regular observations and performance evaluations.

    Create advancement pathways, badges, or level-ups to help teachers grow.

    Maintain a positive, encouraging team culture.

    Scheduling & Operations

    Build and manage weekly teacher schedules to align with class needs.

    Ensure proper class coverage, ratios, and teacher certifications.

    Coordinate substitutes and last-minute schedule adjustments.

    Collaborate with the leadership team to maintain smooth day-to-day operations.

    Quality Control & Customer Experience

    Ensure all teachers deliver consistent, high-quality lessons aligned with curriculum standards.

    Address parent feedback regarding teacher performance with professionalism and care.

    Support curriculum implementation and updates.

    Monitor safety protocols and ensure staff compliance.

    Stay on top of teacher certifications, including but not limited to Safe Sport, Lifeguard (if applicable), and CPR/First Aid.

    Communication & Team Engagement

    Lead regular staff meetings, trainings, and seasonal workshops.

    Celebrate teacher achievements and milestones.

    Support a positive, inclusive environment where teachers feel valued and empowered.

    Teach Swim Lessons

    Teach swim lessons and deliver the highest-quality instruction.

    Qualifications & Desired Experience

    1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience (swim school or childcare preferred).

    Strong swimming knowledge; teacher experience strongly preferred.

    Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.

    Ability to motivate, mentor, and build strong team relationships.

    Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing schedules and operations.

    CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain upon hiring).
