Job Summary
This is a teaching position in PPL’s Reengagement Center programs: Diploma Connect and Literacy Lab. Diploma Connect is a unique, self-paced program that guides adults (ages 19+) through the requirements of the MN Standard Adult High School Diploma; the Literacy Lab collaborates with the Education and Career Readiness departments to increase basic reading, math, and digital literacy skills for participants to access additional education, career pathways, and career goals.
✅ What You’ll Do
- Teach all levels of middle school and high school curriculum in both individual and small group settings
- Help participants with various coursework, including areas within Math, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, and Career Readiness
- Explore internal and external credit opportunities aligned with Minnesota Career and College Readiness state standard
- Plan curriculum that addresses privilege and systems
- Learn from the work and participant experiences to pivot and grow towards new results
- Help participants navigate various systems, including postsecondary applications and career training opportunities
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in the community to encourage opportunities for participants enrolled in the program and to strengthen referrals to the Reengagement Center
- Help develop and implement appropriate program structures, policies, and procedures, in addition to academic and life-skills activities that recognize participants’ achievements
✅ What You Bring
- State of Minnesota Teaching Licensure for secondary grades, or equivalent life experience
- Substantial experience working directly with young adults from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Substantial experience working with young adults who have experienced many barriers, including systems involvement
- Training and experience in online learning, team teaching, project-based, experiential, and/or competency-based education.
- Experience working with MN high school standards and credit recovery
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensure in Reading or ELA preferred
- Experience in alternative high schools or GED settings
- Familiarity with GED, HiSet, and TABE testing
- Experience with postsecondary application process, career trainings, career credentials, and/or youth development

Hours : Full time, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm, Exempt
