We are looking for a talented Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the school year.
Hourly Rate Range: $42.00-$51.00 per hour
Responsibilities would include:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive classroom settings.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
- Teach Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility concepts, and adaptive skills.
- Adapt instructional materials to accessible formats (Braille, large print, audio).
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student success.
- Support use of assistive technology and visual aids.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain documentation in compliance with South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) and IDEA regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Visual Impairments, Special Education, or related field.
- South Carolina Teaching License with Visual Impairment certification (issued by SCDE).
- Experience with Braille and assistive technology preferred.
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required.
