  • Responsibilities

    We are looking for a talented Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the school year.

    Hourly Rate Range: $42.00-$51.00 per hour

    Responsibilities would include:

    • Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive classroom settings.
    • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
    • Teach Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility concepts, and adaptive skills.
    • Adapt instructional materials to accessible formats (Braille, large print, audio).
    • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student success.
    • Support use of assistive technology and visual aids.
    • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
    • Maintain documentation in compliance with South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) and IDEA regulations.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Visual Impairments, Special Education, or related field.
    • South Carolina Teaching License with Visual Impairment certification (issued by SCDE).
    • Experience with Braille and assistive technology preferred.
    • Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required.
