    At TX-STAR Speech Language Services, we partner with school districts across Texas to support students with diverse learning needs. We are currently hiring Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) for school-based opportunities across Texas.

    This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about supporting students with visual impairments and ensuring they have full access to educational materials and classroom experiences.

    What You’ll Do

    As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments to help them succeed academically and function independently.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Conduct assessments to determine students’ strengths and areas of need

    • Provide direct instruction tailored to individual student needs

    • Prepare and adapt instructional materials into accessible formats (e.g., Braille, large print, assistive technology)

    • Support the implementation of IEP goals and accommodations

    • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and multidisciplinary teams

    • Consult with families and school personnel to support student success

    • Assist students in developing independent learning and functional skills

    • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation

    What You’ll Need

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

    • Valid Texas teaching certification

    • Certification as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI)

    • Knowledge of instructional strategies for students with visual impairments

    • Ability to assess visual functioning using appropriate tools and methods

    • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to manage student behavior and support diverse learning needs
