    APPLY NOW! Teacher of the Visually Impaired (VI)– VI Assessment & Student Support in Oakland/San Francisco, CA

    Celebrations Speech Group is hiring a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (VI) to support a high school student through an initial VI assessment and provide recommendations for services or tools that will improve access to learning. The student has documented mobility challenges, low engagement in current programming, and a need for targeted visual support. Preference is for in-person services.

    Celebrations Speech Group is a private practice and Non-Public Agency with decades of experience providing quality special education and therapy services to children with special needs in schools, homes, and in-clinic.     Responsibilities:

    Conduct a functional vision assessment

    Identify supports and instructional tools to increase classroom access

    Recommend next steps for service delivery or accommodations

    Collaborate with IEP team to inform student planning

    Qualifications:

    REQUIRED: Valid, active CA Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Visual Impairments (VI) Authorization issued by California CTC

    Special Education Experience - +1 year preferred

    Experience supporting students with low vision and mobility-based needs

    Clear, strengths-based communication and documentation skills

    Availability for in-person assessment and/or follow-up service

    Complete assigned tasks without supervision

    Communicate effectively at all organizational levels

    Compensation

    Rate varies by contract scope and experience.

    For assessment-only roles, compensation is offered as a flat rate.

    $1,200–$1,500 per assessment

    For ongoing roles, hourly models are utilized.

    $45–$60 per hour
