About the Role:
The 1st Step Nursery & DCC Inc in Fort Lee, NJ is looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher's Aide to join our nurturing early childhood team! Responsibilities:
Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate classroom activities and lesson plans
Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development throughout the school day
Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions
Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
Provide individualized attention and support to children as needed
Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding child progress and daily activities
Follow all childcare center policies, procedures, and state licensing regulations
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, nursery, or school setting is a plus
Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for children
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to maintain a safe and structured classroom environment
Must meet NJ state childcare licensing requirements, including background checks
CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
