    The Arts & Learning Conservatory is a highly awarded, leading after-school arts provider in Orange County. Our high-quality arts programs are accessible to all children regardless of income or background as our goal is to set students up for success in life artistically, academically, and socially. Founded in 2004, the Arts & Learning Conservatory (ALC) has reached over 30,000 children across numerous campuses throughout Southern California.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    This is more than a job, it’s an opportunity to share your passion for the arts, mentor the next generation of performers, and help students discover their own creative voices on stage. We are searching for motivated, talented, and experienced individuals to join the Arts & Learning Conservatory this fall as Teaching Artists! With theatre and music classes across Orange County, we offer opportunities to connect with communities and bring the arts to all students. At ALC, our mission is to "provide students of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels the opportunity to learn and excel in an immersive environment of world class performing arts." To achieve this goal, we need outstanding teachers to lead our classes and inspire a future generation of young artists.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Teach students Technical Theatre basics.

    • Effectively and safely lead a high-energy classroom environment.

    • Implement pre-determined curriculum and learning goals in a fun and inclusive manner.

    • Engage with students using our STEM forward Technical Theatre Curriculum at our partner school sites.

    • Help students Grades 3-8 run technical aspects of a short musical.

    • Regularly communicate with a team of directors, costumers, producers, supervisors, and more.

    • Create ample opportunity for a diverse group of students to find success in their classroom roles.

    • Foster a learning environment that encourages creativity and confidence.

    • Create Collaborate with fellow teaching artists and production staff to bring exciting, student-centered performances to life, celebrating each child’s unique contributions.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Brings experience in the dramatic and musical arts, a passion for the performing arts, and a genuine belief in theatre’s power to inspire, educate, and transform young lives

    • Experience working with elementary and secondary-level children

    • A friendly and vibrant demeanor

    • Organizational excellence

    • Availability afternoons and evenings

    • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree (preferred)

    •1+ year of teaching experience

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Prolonged periods standing, sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
