PS Yardwork LLC is a well-established residential landscaping and horticulture company serving high-end coastal properties throughout Southern Rhode Island and nearby Connecticut. We are a small, family-style team that takes pride in craftsmanship, plant health, and long-term client relationships.

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead / Foreman to manage daily field operations and lead a crew of 2–4 team members. This role is designed for someone who can confidently serve as the owner’s on-site representative, making real-time decisions, maintaining quality standards, and guiding the crew through full workdays in the field.

    The Role

As Team Lead / Foreman, you will oversee the execution, efficiency, and quality of daily work across multiple residential properties. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring both physical labor and strong decision-making skills. You will lead by example, communicate clearly with management, and ensure work is completed to company standards, without the need for constant supervision.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a crew of 2–4 people across multiple residential properties

Serve as the primary on-site decision maker and field contact

Perform and oversee daily tasks including:

Pruning, planting, mulching, edging, hedging, and garden maintenance

Plant installation with attention to layout, spacing, and long-term health

Identification of pest, disease, and pruning issues with appropriate response

Track crew hours, productivity, and job progress across locations

Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, and vehicles

Safely operate a company truck and dump trailer

Communicate daily updates, needs, and challenges to ownership

Uphold high standards for safety, professionalism, and workmanship

    Required Experience & Skills

Previous leadership or crew supervision experience preferred

Experience in residential or commercial landscaping or horticulture

Strong plant identification skills and horticultural knowledge

    Hands-on proficiency with:

String trimmers, hedge trimmers, edgers, and hand tools

    Battery-powered landscape equipment

    Strong organizational and time-management skills

Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in real time

    Professional, respectful communication style

We value experience, but we also value motivation and commitment. Candidates who may be slightly less experienced, but demonstrate strong work ethic, leadership potential, and a clear desire to learn and grow long-term are encouraged to apply.

    Work Expectations

This is a physically demanding outdoor position

Consistent work in heat, cold, rain, wind, and seasonal conditions is required

Long days may occur during peak season

Must be physically capable of lifting 40+ lbs and performing hands-on labor

Reliability, resilience, and punctuality are essential

    Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

    Reliable transportation

Must live in Southern Rhode Island or Northeast Connecticut

Willingness to work outdoors in most weather conditions

    Schedule & Compensation

    Seasonal Full-Time: March 1 – December 31

Reduced winter hours with seasonal layoff option if desired

Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 7/8am–3/4pm (hours flex with daylight)
