    Position Overview:

    This role is responsible for assisting in all activities related to biweekly payroll processing. You will be responsible for working with accounting and human resources to ensure team members are paid accurately and timely through our outsourced provider. This role will report directly to the Director of Numbers (Accounting & Finance) and work autonomously to achieve accurate and timely payroll objectives.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Gather and authenticate timekeeping information for each team member and export payroll data across multiple systems.
    • Utilize Microsoft Excel to develop, manage, and revise biweekly payroll calculation forms, incorporating both hourly wages and incentive bonus programs.
    • Review the reported and computed wages to identify and rectify any errors in order to guarantee the payroll accuracy.
    • Evaluate and handle updated salary rates for team members, including any modifications ie: pay raises, bonuses and commissions.
    • Determine referral and sign-on incentives as needed.
    • Calculate and issue final wages for terminated team members.
    • Offer assistance and ensure the timely updating of 401k benefits and elections.
    • Administer 401k contributions every two weeks through our external 401k platform.
    • Record biweekly payroll and 401k journal entry transactions in Quickbooks Online with accuracy and efficiency.
    • Prepare biweekly inter-company 401k invoices.
    • Resolve any discrepancies in payroll and address employee inquiries related to payroll.
    • Carry out payroll operations in compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Create and produce necessary reports related to payroll, including gathering payroll data for year-end audits
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Exceptional mathematical and calculation skills.
    • Familiarity with general accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in various technical skills is essential, including familiarity with Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel, Gmail, and third-party payroll processing software like Paychex/Oasis.
    • Advanced verbal and written communication.
    • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
    • Experience in successfully operating within a remote team environment.
    • Skilled in overseeing payroll operations and handling employee benefit programs.
    • Proficient in conducting thorough research and possessing strong analytical abilities.
    • A high school diploma or GED.
    • A certification, associate, or bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is desirable, although individuals with 3-5 years of direct payroll processing experience will also be considered.
