This position is to work at our rapidly growing local office here in Austin TX.
Summary
The IT Technician’s role is to ensure system operation and functionality so that end users can accomplish business tasks. The objective of the IT Technician will be to respond to support requests in a timely manner, be the initial reference point for all IT support-related tickets, and ensure the satisfaction of the end-user, among other technical duties.
IT Technicians are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments, executive levels, and customers daily.
IT Technician II Responsibilities:
Provide support of incoming requests to the service desk via telephone, web portal, email to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end-user issues.
Provisioning and system setup for new hires.
Prioritize incidents and service requests according to defined processes to meet defined SLAs.
Use remote tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in resolving support requests.
Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate, including hardware repairs, delivery of peripherals, or other fixes as determined.
Installing and configuring hardware and software components throughout various network infrastructure devices.
Install endpoint protection software and ensure its active and updated.
Microsoft 365 administration and management
Server administration via Active Directory, Azure AD, File & Print services, DNS, DHCP.
Knowledge of Cloud solutions, services and virtualization technologies.
Network firewall and switch administration and maintenance.
Perform support remotely to our manage services customer using our remote monitoring and management tools.
Visit local client sites for on-site service, network assessments, planning discussions, etc.
Log time entries and notes for support and maintenance performed using Autotask.
Provide customers with timely written and oral updates regarding their support cases.
Update and maintain customer information in our documentation system as changes in their environment occur.
Create or update documented policies and procedures for the use of technical staff when new issues occur that may impact multiple users.
Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
Valid Driver License and ability to drive to customer locations when required.
Ensuring company safety and security standards are met.
IT Technician II Requirements:
Must have at least 3 years of Managed Service Provider experience, working in diverse environments.
College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and high energy environment.
Candidates must be team players with excellent communication skills and possess the ability to manage assignments independently. The ideal candidate will have a nurturing personality and the desire to help in the mentoring of their fellow technicians.
Candidates must have the ability to work collaboratively with fellow team members and customers.
Candidates must possess strong decision making and problem-solving abilities.
Candidates must possess organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
Candidates must be reliable and punctual.
Candidates must have reliable transportation, valid drivers license and auto insurance.
Valid Driver License and ability to drive to customer locations when required.
Industry certifications (i.e. Microsoft, COMPTIA, etc.) preferred.
CompTIA Net+ and/or CompTIA Security+ certifications preferred.
NOTE: This position requires person to be Austin Metro area and available to be in office minimum 2 days a week and also assist onsite needs to customer locations within Austin metro
