We are seeking a Creative eLearning/Multimedia Developer to design and develop an interactive middle school course. The eDeveloper will collaborate closely with the Digital Equity team and project team (Instructional Designer and Project Manager) to develop a student learning experience that increases engagement through real-world, meaningful learning experiences, fostering the digital competencies needed for the future of learning.
About Digital Promise
Digital Promise Global is a nonprofit organization dedicated to shaping the future of learning and advancing equitable systems by bringing together solutions across research, practice, and technology. The Digital Equity team within Digital Promise focuses on ensuring learners, especially those historically and systemically excluded, have equal access to reliable high-speed internet, devices, resources, and meaningful learning opportunities.
Responsibilities and Criteria
- Develop a minimum of three (3) iterations of a student-facing, asynchronous learning experience that develops and assesses digital competencies.
- The Digital Badge learning experience includes approximately 1-2 hours of self-guided content divided into 3-4 modules (15-20 minutes each).
- Create multimodal and engaging interactions, including a minimum of 4 videos. Students might:
- Watch a video/storytelling animated learning
- Listen to a conversation or scenario and determine their response
- Engage in scaffolded practice with automated feedback
- Participate in gamification, progress mapping, “leveling up,” and streak points
- Face real-world challenge performance assessments
- Reflect on their learning
- Use a kid-friendly assessment rubric with exemplar models
- Ensure adherence to accessibility requirements (translations, accessibility features, etc.).
- Create engaging and interactive course content, including text, graphics, audio, and video components.
- Develop interactive assessments to evaluate learner progress.
- Incorporate opportunities for students to progress at their own pace and track their progress.
- Implement multiple feedback opportunities for students to receive targeted, personalized, automated feedback.
Deliverables
- Fully developed student learning experience with all multimedia and assessment elements integrated.
- Testing and quality assurance reports.
- Training materials and sessions for course maintenance and updates.
Weekly Meetings
- Participate in approximately 1-2 hours of weekly design syncs with the project director and/or project team.
- Allocate up to 2 hours weekly for project management tasks to ensure communication and milestones are met.
Requirements
- Must have experience with; Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, Canvas, Articulate Storyline
- Demonstrated skills in graphic design and UI/UX and Articulate Storyline via samples of work
- Ability to integrate the course with the Learning Management System (LMS) Canvas.
- Implement UI/UX best practices to ensure the course is user-friendly.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards
