Pension/Eligibility Specialist
The Pension Administrator is responsible for; (i) the day-to-day administration of pension plans, (ii) maintenance of retirement plan records, (iii) and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The Pension Administrator is also responsible for employer contribution reporting and member eligibility for health care. The Pension Administrator will communicate with other staff in the fund office as well as members of the Teamsters Local 731 union and assist with benefit distributions. Responsibilities:
· Meet with member/spouse to discuss pension plan benefit options and assist in completion of pension application.
· Prepare pension calculations for all life events (termination, retirement, disability, and death).
· Answer inquires related to the pension plans, contributions and eligibility by telephone, post, or email.
· Arrange payment of pensions.
· Process contributions from employers.
· Ensure retiree record database is up-to-date and accurate.
· Provide support in annual pension audits and implement audit recommendations.
· Provide assistance to pension management team whenever needed.
· Analyze and resolve issues related to pension plans and employer contributions.
· Other clerical tasks as required. Requirements:
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and document imaging systems.
· Knowledge in ISSI and i-Remit software is a plus.
· Strong math skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor on the phone and face to face with members and co-workers.
· Understanding of benefits system.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Detail oriented.
· Ability to multi-task and complete work accurately and in a timely manner.
· Works well with a team.
· 2 to 4 years of related experience preferred.
