Position Overview
Tier One Transmissions is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Transmission Tear Down Technician to join our growing team. This role is critical to our rebuild process and overall quality standards. The Tear Down Technician is responsible for properly disassembling transmissions, identifying core components, documenting findings, and maintaining accurate records in ShopMonkey, all while upholding Tier One’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
Tear down automatic transmissions according to Tier One procedures and safety standards
Inspect, identify, and sort reusable, damaged, and non-rebuildable components
Accurately document tear down findings and notes within ShopMonkey
Maintain an error rate equal to or below Tier One quality standards
Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
Communicate findings clearly with rebuild technicians, leadership, and the team
Follow all shop policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Key Performance Measures
Maintains a record of attendance in accordance with Tier One standards
Remains professional in appearance, communication, and conduct at all times
Fosters a team-focused, “can-do” attitude
Maintains an error rate at or below Tier One standards
Demonstrates willingness to continuously learn and improve

Qualifications
Previous experience in transmission tear down, automotive repair, or diesel applications preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Comfortable using digital shop management systems (ShopMonkey experience a plus)
Ability to lift heavy components and stand for extended periods
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
