  • Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Primary responsibilities are to design and develop industrial products using innovative engineering solutions

    • Generate effective solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practical and within cost and time targets

    • Manage projects

    • Periodically interact with customers and vendors to discuss, understand and/or establish requirements

    • 3D Modeling using Onshape and/or Solidworks

    • Develop and innovative pneumatic, electronic, and mechanical designs

    • Generate detail drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ISO/ASME)

    • Create and maintain Bills of Materials

    • Document engineering changes via established procedures

    • Employ new technologies to produce unique and innovative solutions

    • Execute sound engineering practices, backed up with hand calcs, FEA, etc.

    • Select Materials and fabrication for cost/performance

    • Special projects and other duties as assigned

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCES:

    • Mechanical products and systems design experience with a strong product development focus

    • Tooling, and work holding fixture design

    • Previous experience in manufacturing automation (Design for mass production is preferred)

    • Previous design experience with Robotic work cells and associated end effectors is preferred

    • Knowledge and application of safety standards

    • Experience with hands-on prototype design, testing, and build as well as release to production

    A Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Design are preferred.
