    TechChange provides online professional development in technology and social change. Our platform helps build communities around the world through courses, workshops, and virtual conferences on topics like global health, human rights, economic empowerment, and more. 

    We're seeking a UI/UX designer to work closely with all members of the tech team to collaborate on the design and implementation of their work. This position will also work across teams and with external partners to gather insights and input that will inform their work. We're a small, dynamic, remote-first team, and are looking for a self-motivated team member that can come in and help take our product to the next level.

    WHAT YOU'D DO

    As a UI/UX designer, you will be responsible for user research, generating mockups, user flows, and contributing to visual design on the platform. At the heart of this position is the responsibility for consistent design and user experience on the platform. This includes:

    • Gathering and organizing UI/UX feedback from internal teams and external clients for data-driven prioritization of UI/UX projects
    • Leading user research efforts ahead of feature development to better surface and describe requirements
    • Collaborating with tech team members to generate wireframes and high-fidelity mockups
    • Establishing and maintaining a pattern library and style guide for the tech team
    • Contributing visual design and user experience feedback to design docs during the feature planning process

    YOU PROBABLY HAVE

    • 2-5 years experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
    • Strong visual design skills
    • Fluency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Miro, Photoshop  
    • Understanding of principles of web development
    • Commitment to creating and fostering a psychologically safe work environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication

    YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE

    • BFA/MFA or equivalent
    • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript
    • Experience with User Centered Design
    • Teaching or curriculum design experience
    • Knowledge of international relations, development and/or peacebuilding work at the local or international level

    COMMITMENT

    SALARY RANGE

    $75-90k depending on experience
