    Job Description

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Creates detailed software test plans designed to cover both validation and verification of a new or modified software feature.
    • Develops automated software test scripts using the proprietary company scripting language.
    • Researches and reports all software anomalies in bug tracking software.
    • Researches software issues and creates software service bulletins to alert service, applications, dealers and customers to the presence of software bugs or other problems.
    • Releases standard and emergency software versions.
    • Researches parameter and setting updates by interviewing programmers, electrical and mechanical engineers, service, and applications staff, also by running tests on machines using new software features. 
    • Maintains parameter values using the SAP (or equivalent) MRP software.
    • Maintains software design documents and requirements and specifications (tables, flowcharts, etc.) by researching and integrating information from completed, on-going and proposed new projects.
    • Will create test methods and test plans for testing of firmware. This may include the creation of new software test tools.
    • Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc.  Additionally, there are high value items that require proper care and protection.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's Degree (BSCS/ BSCE/ BSEE or other similar technical degree) from a four-year college or university is required, plus an additional 1-3 years related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English. Must be able to write technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and create instructional reference material.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. It is required to comprehend and apply principles of modern algebra and advanced statistical theory. In addition, must have the ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Must have the ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking and work with a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Must have the capability to deal with a variety of abstract and/or concrete variables. In addition, will need to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly required to use computer equipment for data entry and reporting, use keyboard, mouse or trackball electronic input devices and interact with computer display terminals at close distances. These data entry terminals may be located at bench installations in shop areas. Employee must occasionally lift/move test equipment and other objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

     

    This position requires heavy computer use, including monitor, keyboard, mouse, trackball, touchpad, etc.
