Job Description

This is a 6 month contract with option to renew.  We need an hourly programmer to maintain and enhance DRPT's web-based applications.  Candidates must have journey-level skills in ASP.NET (VB) and SQL Server.

Candidates must have an excellent work ethic and problem-solving skills.

1. Primary responsibility will be making the MERIT FY21 changes to OLGA, the Online Grant Administration system, which is used by local agencies throughout Virginia to apply for Grants and request reimbursements.  It is written in ASP.NET (VB) and uses SQL Server.

2. Initially DRPT staff will do the analysis and design.  The contractor may take on more analysis and design responsibilities as desired.

3. Responsible for troubleshooting application issues as identified by DRPT users.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

8+ years of experience as an IT professional working in a Programming role – Required 8 Years

8+ years of experience as a Web Developer using the ASP.NET framework, preferably with VB – Required 8 Years

SQL Server database experience – Required 8 Years

Able to write SQL queries – Required 8 Years

Able to write SQL Stored Procedures – Required 5 Years

Able to design and maintain SQL tables to meet application needs – Required 5 Years

Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX – Required 8 Years

Experience with both Front-End and Back-End Web development – Required 8 Years

Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio – Required 5 Years

Experience with Debugging, Unit Testing, System Testing – Required 8 Years

Excellent communications skills – Required 8 Years

Excellent problem-solving skills – Required 8 Years

Excellent work ethic – Required 8 Years

Customer Service mindset (helpful and pleasant) – Required 8 Years

Self-starter – Required 8 Years

Ability to troubleshoot technical problems – Required 8 Years

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience – Required 8 Years
