Job Description
The focus of this position is to work closely and partner with both business stakeholders and technical resources to prioritize, manage, troubleshoot, and implement small to medium-size enhancements and defect fixes across a portfolio of approximately 50+ in-house developed applications. As a Senior Business Systems Analyst on the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the business need is well understood, documented, and communicated to the technical resources who are responsible for the implementation and validation of new functionary or the resolution of defects and issues. In addition, the analyst will be responsible for mentoring and assisting junior members of the team as they work to grow their BSA skill set.
BSA ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
SKILLS: -MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) -User Story and Acceptance Criteria Development and Specification -Use of Requirements Elicitation Techniques (JAD sessions, interviews, surveys, shadowing, etc.) -Creating and Maintaining Business Process Flow Diagrams -Proven knowledge of Web Application Concepts -Proven knowledge of Client / Server Application Concepts -Create and maintain source to target data maps -Effective Meeting Facilitation, Conflict Resolution, and Negotiation skills -Mentor & provide guidance to junior members of the team
REQUIRED SKILLS: Formulates and documents well-formed user stories with detailed acceptance criteria – REQUIRED 5 YEARS. Effectively used various elicitation techniques (JAD sessions, interviews, surveys, shadowing, etc.) to identify business needs – REQUIRED 6 YEARS. Creates and maintains business process flow diagrams – REQUIRED 6 YEARS. Knowledge of both web application and client-server application concepts – REQUIRED 5 YEARS. Create and maintain source to target data integration maps – REQUIRED 5 YEARS. Effective meeting facilitation, conflict resolution, and negotiation – REQUIRED 6 YEARS. Identify and make recommendations on business and system process improvements – REQUIRED 5 YEARS. Comfort in interacting with, setting expectations, and resolving requirements & prioritization conflicts with stakeholders across the organization – REQUIRED 6 YEARS. Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures and help documentation – REQUIRED 6 YEARS. Excellent written and oral communication – REQUIRED 6 YEARS. Previous experience providing guidance and mentoring to Junior BSAs on the team – HIGHLY DESIRED 2 YEARS. Ability to perform and scale BSA-related tasks and activities for work efforts of various sizes (small maintenance items to the large projects) – REQUIRED 6 YEARS. Partners with technical and quality assurance resources to ensure that requirements are implemented and tested per the acceptance criteria – REQUIRED 6 YEARS. Assist product owners or other key stakeholders with UAT planning and execution – REQUIRED 5 YEARS. Effectively break-down BSA activities into relevant tasks and provide estimates for completion – REQUIRED 6 YEARS. Experience working on agile, waterfall and hybrid agile-waterfall methodologies – REQUIRED 6 YEARS.
