    Job Description

    MSNBC is looking for a staff Technical Associate to join our Operations team. The Technical Associate will be responsible for executing a range of technical production roles for live, taped and streaming MSNBC programming. The Technical Associate Team provides expert on-air studio operations for MSNBC. The Technical Associate Teams’ responsibilities include: Stage Management, A2-Studio Audio Assist, Teleprompter Operation, Studio Utility and Camera Operation. Camera operations include Robotic Camera, Pedestal Camera, Jib Camera and Steadi Camera Operation. This individual should possess a clear understanding of production workflows, from asset creation to studio and control room operations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who embraces new technology, innovation and creative problem-solving. We operate in fast-paced, high-pressure conditions, this individual should have exposure to live broadcasting culture and be comfortable working in this environment.

    Candidates should be available to work at all hours. This includes nights, weekends and holidays.

    Essential Functions:

    • On-Air Studio Operations for MSNBC
    • Team operations include: Stage Management, A2-Studio Audio Assist, Teleprompter Operation, Studio Utility and Camera Operation. Camera operations include Robotic Camera, Pedestal Camera, Jib Camera and Steadi Camera Operation.
    • Facilitate technical solutions for equipment build/set-up during pre-production
    • Test and prepare equipment for on-air operations
    • Experience with multiple news program/show formats and styles
    • Experience with Professional Studio equipment
    • Ability to think quickly, communicate well and keep pace
    • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Collaborate with the team
    • Strong client service and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to handle pressure
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in a live broadcast studio environment
    • Must be available for all shifts, including overnights, weekends and holidays.
    • Ability to think quickly, communicate well and keep pace with fast moving productions
    • Strong client service and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to handle pressure in an on-air environment
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
    • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Must be willing to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift as needed.
    • Must be willing to work in New York City and/or Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.

    • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
